Philips Lumea

Real user stories celebrating body hair positivity.

Whether you choose to remove body hair or not, Philips Lumea helps you feel comfortable in your skin - literally that is.

To shed light on different perspectives of how to deal with body hair, DEPT and Wenneker.Amsterdam created these highly personal user stories. We opened the studio to develop tailor made illustrations and animations to support the individual messages and personalities. A journey that pushed barriers and inspired every artist involved.

Some of us feel like we have to
make a never-ending effort to
remove our hair.

"I had to shave every 2-3 days and the hair used
to irritate me when I was walking in shorts or skirts
because it was prickly"

– Maria Jula

Some women choose not
to remove hair at all.

"I've learnt so much from other women
and different cultures, where they let their
body hair grow"

– Kashish

For others, removing hair is a way
to finally feel free to be themselves.

"I used to be bullied for my body hair.
Now I have the power to completely
remove it if I want to"

– Ingrid

And sometimes, smooth skin can
change the way we look at ourselves.

"My skin is much smoother now,
which makes a big impact on how I feel"

– Claudia

The research phase

Not only on an artistic level, but also on the productional level we shook up the existing flows and worked together -studio, agency and brand- as equal individuals, the only goal to bring out the best out of these powerful individuals. What a team!
